Open a File with the Xcode Editor from the Command Line

Add the following alias to your ~/.bashrc (or ~/.bash_profile)


alias xcode='open -a /Applications/Xcode.app'


Run following to make the new alias available in the current shell/terminal window.


$ .  ~/.bashrc


Use it to open a file in iTerm


$ xcode readme.txt
